Andrew Mateyak, born of missionary parents, is a fulltime volunteer missionary in Cagayan de Oro City in the Philippines. He is a member of the Family International. Together with his wife Melody, he teaches Sunday school classes and is involved with various charity and social projects. Anita Healey worked in Nepal for 10 years as an English teacher for underprivileged children. She currently lives in Florida where she is a production assistant for a Christian filmmaker.
Bonita Hele lived in India for 12 years where she was involved in social work and Christian counseling. She returned to California in 2010 with her husband, Solomon, and three young children. She is now studying and working as a freelance writer and editor.
Curtis Peter van Gorder is a 60 year young American who married a Dutch woman (Pauline) 37 years back. He has 12 grandkids. He is an effusive writer for magazines and short stories. He is also the director of Elixir Mime--workshops and theater for the deaf; the director of Elixir Scripts--producing inspirational screenplays; a motivational writer and speaker for the MOVE program; and a puppeteer and professional mime and animator for the event company Party Pixie. He lives in Mumbai, India.
David Bolick was born in the US and since 1974 has been living in a variety of Latin American countries, working as a volunteer missionary, as well as a translator, English professor, and freelance writer. An amateur runner since 1991, with several marathons and trail races under his belt, he finds inspiration in the endurance sport. He has three daughters, four grandchildren, and presently resides in Guadalajara, Mexico, with his Portuguese wife Aldina. David is also a medical tourism facilitator and co-founder of MediTravel Solutions.
Derek and Michelle Brookes are professional educators and writers, who have been happily married and working together for 39 years. After several years as successful teachers, they have spent the last three decades as Christian educators and educational consultants. Their lifelong ambition to provide quality care and education to all children has taken them to four continents, and brought practical help and encouragement to many who face the great responsibility of caring for and educating children.
Born in the Netherlands, Dina Ellens has experienced a variety of cross cultural settings ranging from the USA, where she was educated, to Asia. She taught school in Southeast Asia for more than 25 years and is now retired. Dina remains active in volunteer work as well as pursuing her interests in early childhood education and writing.
Gabriel García V. (also credited as Gabriel Sarmiento) is the editor of Conéctate, the Spanish edition of Activated. He is a translator, interpreter, writer and poet, and has lived on three continents as a volunteer missionary with the Family International.
Iris Richard is a mother of seven children (14-36 years old) and grandmother of six. She and her husband live in Kenya where they have been involved in missionary work and humanitarian aid projects for the last 17 years. Iris is a nurse and counselor. She is currently writing her memoirs, which will document her experiences of the last 30 years of volunteer work in Asia and Africa.
Janet Barcelo (with articles also published under the pen name Janet Barnes), has been a volunteer educator and mission worker for the past 25 years in countries as diverse as Japan, Argentina, India and Romania. She currently lives in the U.S., where she is raising the youngest of her nine children and regularly participates in charity and social work.
Jorge Solá, originally from Barcelona, Spain, is a father of nine and a translator. He works on the Spanish edition of Activated magazine and collaborates with the international publishing house Aurora Production. He lives in Cartagena, Colombia, where he is on the board of Arriba las Manos, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving education in coastal communities and promoting personal development programs for disadvantaged children that explore fundamental Christian values through interactive workshops.
Joyce Suttin is an educator, writer, and frequent contributor to Activated magazine. She lives in San Antonio Texas with her husband and has an on-line ministry excerpting, editing, and writing inspirational material.
Maria Fontaine is the spiritual and administrative co-director (along with her husband, Peter Amsterdam) of the Family International, a Christian community of faith dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world. She is the author of numerous articles on the Christian faith life.
Marie Boisjoly is French Canadian and has been involved in Christian community services for 34 years. She is currently living in Mexico with her husband. She is a laughter therapist and director of “Coloreando el Mundo” (Coloring the World), an interactive clown and puppet show. She is also a distributor of educational and motivational products.
Marie Story (also credited as Marie Péloquin) lives in San Antonio, Texas, where she works as a freelance illustrator and volunteers as a counselor at a local homeless shelter.
Natalia Nazarova (also credited as Natalia Prokhatska) is an English teacher from Ukraine. She currently lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and homeschools her seven children together with her Polish husband, Adam. Natalia is also a professional translator and tour guide for TravelMark tourist agency.

Peter Amsterdam has been active in Christian service since 1971. In 1995 he became co-director (together with his wife, Maria Fontaine) of the Christian community of faith known as the Family International. He has authored a variety of articles on Christian faith and theology.
Phil Lynch is an expat New Zealand writer living in Atlantic Canada. He has also authored several books and articles under the pen name Scott MacGregor.
Rosane Pereira is Brazilian and has been a career missionary together with her late husband, Carlos Cordoba, since 1975. She has eight children and five grandchildren. Rosane is an English and Spanish teacher, translator, and writer. She has authored a book on faith titled: Proofs of His Presence, and is currently writing a second book titled: An Eternal Apprentice. She is also a partner in a small business called Interconnect, that links translating and language learning with tourism and ecotourism in the Rio de Janeiro area.
Samuel Keating (also credited as Ronan Keane) is the production manager for the Activated magazine. He lives in Milan, Italy, with his wife, Sonia, and daughter, Audrey.
Sonia Purkiss is the production manager for Just1Thing, a website dedicated to providing Christian reading material for teenagers. She currently lives in Milan, Italy, with her husband Samuel and daughter Audrey.
Uday Paul lives in Mumbai, India and teaches English and personality development courses. He’s currently involved in a project that teaches English to underprivileged teenagers in order to give them the best opportunity to succeed in life.
Victoria Olivetta is from Argentina. She is a mother of three and has three grandchildren. As a member of the Family International, she has spent the last 30 years devoted to serving others. She is a counselor for the terminally ill and those suffering depression. When time allows, Victoria also enjoys writing and translating.
Virginia Brandt Berg (1886-1968) was a well-known American evangelist, and one of the first radio evangelists in America. She authored “The Hem of His Garment” and “Streams That Never Run Dry” and a series of inspirational radio programs titled “Meditation Moments.”

Christina Andreassen (also credited as Tianna Andreassen) is a Norwegian humanitarian professional working in Asia and the Middle East.
David Brandt Berg (1919-1994) was the son of well-known American evangelist Virginia Brandt Berg. In 1968, David and his wife and teenage children pioneered a ministry to the counterculture youth of Huntington Beach, California. This ministry grew into an international Christian missionary movement known today as the Family International (TFI).
Dulcinea Fox is an Australian whose life has been dedicated to supporting charity and humanitarian efforts throughout China, Russia, India, Japan and Mexico.
